The Brand Guide Is Broken

The Brand Guide Is Broken

That’s admittedly a large claim to make. But it’s true. There are thousands of designers who will happily take your money and create a gorgeous brand guide that shows you how to create consistency in your marketing. But what happens once the brand guide is done?

To ensure consistency your brand guide has to be used.

Having a brand guide is great if the same agency or multiple agencies are going to develop all of your assets. Agencies are expensive, though, so maybe you decide to bring it in-house. But if your in-house team isn’t filled with highly trained skilled designers will everything look as good as it does in the guide? No, probably not. The best solution: have the agency who created the brand guide build you templates that are on-brand, that anyone on your team can use.

So why bother creating the guide, to begin with? It’s an easy cash grab. In 2022, if you’re buying a full brand guide and your company is smaller than 1000 people, you’re wasting your money. Brand guides are most useful (and were originally developed) for mega-corporations that have multiple agencies working for them.

What small and medium business owners need right now is a one-page brand overview and design templates for any marketing that’s done repetitively. Which, let’s be honest, is a lot of marketing.

Marketing templates are fantastic for the design side of your business. But what’s missing from them is all the content you have to write to fill them. Which takes time, and just like design, if you’re not doing it internally, it takes money — a lot of it.

Until now, the copy part of the system couldn’t be templated.

Because how do you “templatize” copy? Doesn’t it always have to be unique? The answer is yes and no. So far, this blog that I’m writing right now is 100% unique. Why? Because I wanted to draw a specific comparison to our product and brand guides. Up to this point, the majority of the content has been about a service we don’t offer, so I had to write it from scratch. However, a lot of our other blogs aren’t — they’re utilizing new iterations of copy we’ve developed on our platform.

Our CopyMod ecosystem re-imagines the way businesses write, deliver, and use copy with our interchangeable and reusable content modular framework. All you have to do is input what you need to explain, how long it needs to be, what product or service it’s for, and then press a button and the copy you need appears. You have the power at your fingertips to make hundreds of marketing messages for ads, websites, new products, social media posts, or whatever else you need. You can connect with more customers. You can free up time. You can make more sales.

Having an arsenal of reusable content takes the overwhelm and stress out of your marketing. It reduces the amount of time you and your team need to create an asset or launch a marketing campaign. And it removes the worry of whether or not your content will actually produce the results you’re looking for. Best of all, access to your own modular content framework helps you make the most out of your content budget with unique, captivating messaging you can use whenever and wherever you need it.
